Conneticut College Wrecks Multibeam Sonar Survey by Seaward Science on Sketchfab
Connecticut College recently approached us to map some wreckage in shallow water behind their University. The shallow shallow water capabilities of our survey vessel “Aura” proved ideal for this survey area which is mostly only 1-3m deep. Additionally the area had exposed wreckage in the middle and numerous underwater hazards. The map below shows the survey with satellite imagery of the site. This survey was completed in an afternoon and returned to the customer within a week.
Viewing the SketchFab model above you can clearly see the remnants of 2 shipwrecks and 2 barges. If you have some access to a VR headset I highly recommend using clicking the SketchFab view in VR button to take a look.
